Who we are
Missionary Tracker is an app for iPhone and iPad (with iOS Home Screen widgets) and for Android (with a home screen widget), published by Rephill, LLC, Mesa, Arizona. Questions about this policy go to hilljim@rephill.com.
The same privacy practices apply on iPhone and Android: no account, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Names, dates, email addresses, notes, and photos stay on your device.
Missionary Tracker is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rephill, LLC does not operate a server for this app and does not create an account for you.
What stays on your device
On iPhone, the app saves what you type and the photos you pick in an App Group folder on the device, shared with the Home Screen widget. On Android, the same data is kept in the app’s private storage on the device. That includes:
- Missionary names, optional email addresses, mission choice, and dates
- A current-area address or a mission-home address you type
- Smaller JPEG copies of photos you select
- A cached weather reading for the saved place
- Settings such as Fahrenheit or Celsius and how often photos rotate
Deleting the app removes this data from the device. Rephill, LLC does not receive a copy.
Photos and video
You choose photos and, for a Quick Note, an optional short video with the system photo picker. The app does not browse your library on its own, does not use the camera, and does not upload those files to Rephill, LLC. A video is compressed in a temporary file so it can be attached in Mail, then left for the system to clean up.
Quick Note opens the Mail app already on your iPhone, or a mailto link if Mail is not set up. The message is sent by the mail account you have configured. Rephill, LLC does not send, store, or read that email. The widget cannot send mail. It only opens the app.
Location, maps, and weather
The app does not ask for your iPhone’s location and does not use Location Services. It does not read GPS.
When you save an address, Apple’s geocoder turns that address into a coordinate and time zone. The address text is sent to Apple for that lookup. The pin on the map is that saved place.
To show the forecast, the app and the widget send the latitude, longitude, and time zone of that saved place to Open-Meteo at api.open-meteo.com. The request does not include a name, email address, photo, or note. Open-Meteo’s own policy describes how they handle requests: open-meteo.com/en/terms.
Apple WeatherKit is off unless you turn on Prefer WeatherKit in Settings. If it is on, and the app is signed with the WeatherKit capability, the same coordinates are sent to Apple. If that capability is missing, the app uses Open-Meteo.
Android specifics
On Android, weather comes from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), with no account. The request sends only the latitude, longitude, and time zone of the saved location. It does not include the missionary’s name, email address, notes, or photos.
When you type an address, Android’s built-in Geocoder, a Google service, converts it to coordinates. It plays the same role Apple’s geocoder plays on iPhone.
The Android app does not request device location, photo library, contacts, or notification permissions. You choose photos and videos with the system picker, and the app stores them in app-private storage. App backup is turned off.
Quick Note hands the message to your own email app. The app does not send email itself.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no analytics SDK, and no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites
- No sale of personal information
- No account, and no profile that other people can browse
Children
Missionary Tracker is a family utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not ask for a child’s account. A parent can enter a missionary’s name and photos. Those entries stay on the device as described above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated page will show a new date at the bottom. Continued use of the app after the update means you accept the revised policy.
